About Me

David Lloyd-Brown.png

I am a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) senior accredited and registered counsellor and supervisor, with over two decades of experience working in private practice.

I have a career in Disability Health Advisory Support helping people who may have been disadvantaged through their poor physical or mental health  facilitating them to reach their true potential by finding meaningful and sustainable employment.

I  feel  privileged to be a member of Swansea Counselling Service a not for profit organisation set up to provide subsidised counselling for the people of Swansea who are unable to pay for private therapy and feel unable to wait to be seen on the NHS waiting list.

In my various roles within Swansea Counselling Service, which I joined in 2002 I have been a counsellor, treasurer and since 2014 I have been providing consultative supervision to the group.

Being brought up on the edge of the Gower Peninsular I have a strong affinity with nature  and spend a lot of my time outdoors. My hobbies include, environmentally sustainable wild camping, sailing, walking on  the cliffs and through  the ancient woods of Gower and  trekking in the  mountains  of  the nearby Brecon Beacons.

After recognising the way that the natural world  helped me to overcome a life changing childhood illness I have incorporated the restorative power of nature and landscape by training as an ecotherapist  and offer outdoor therapy as an alternative form to traditional counselling.

As an accredited and registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) I abide by their Ethical Framework. I am also registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

I have helped people with a range of issues and my knowledge and experience in work-related employment issues has made me a specialist in this field including diversity and inclusion problems.
